The Upstate New York Poison Center assists the medical community and general public with poison emergencies by providing state of the art management expertise.

The Center, established in 1957, designated a NYS Regional Poison Center in 1987, and accredited nationally as a Certified Poison Control Center in 1996, celebrated 50 years of service to the community in 2007.

Upstate Connect provides confidential telephone nursing services to the public, including 24-hour triage of adult and pediatric patients with health complaints. Registered nurses also provide extensive and customized general health information by mail, internet, or telephone and can provide patients with physician or service referrals.
