Upstate Pain Management Fellowship has a strong partnership with the Veteran's Administration Medical Center. Due to this partnership, all candidates entering residency or fellowship programs at Upstate on or after July 1, 2017 will be subject to a pre-employment (post-offer) drug test.  This includes any prior Upstate resident/fellow who has had a break in service and is returning to employment.  For candidates entering residency or fellowship programs at Upstate, drug screening and final results must be available prior to the first day of their program as a prerequisite to employment.

If you are a male candidate who is a U.S. citizen you must have registered with Selective Service (this is required by the Veterans Affairs Medical Center).  The Veterans Administration Hospital has a policy that all males who are U.S. born or naturalized citizens, must have registered for the U.S. Selective Service between the ages of 18 and 26 in order to be able to work at the VAMC Syracuse, NY.
