Network Operations and Security

Network Operations and Security consists of four teams working together and are responsible for the campus computer network infrastructure, access management for most systems, and cybersecurity on the Upstate network.

The Network Services team is responsible for physical connections for all computer devices on the University and Community Campuses as well as many remote sites, the fiber optic backbone, switches, routers, gateways, firewalls, remote access, and connectivity to the Internet. Our Sailpoint Development team is responsible for the development of the Sailpoint system, which is the software behind MyAccounts password resets and some of the workflows for requesting system accounts. The Identity Management team is responsible for provisioning accounts for many of our systems used by clinicians, students, faculty, staff, contractors, and volunteers. The Cybersecurity team is responsible for the security on our network and devices connected to the network. Network Operations and Security provides 24x7 coverage for network outages, security issues and system access issues as well as planned upgrades.
