Masters of Public Health
The Master of Public Health is a professional degree that provides a population-based perspective and is designed to prepare students to investigate and manage public health problems. This program is fully accredited by the Council on Education in Public Health (CEPH).
As an interdisciplinary degree, the MPH offers our students flexibility in regard to their interests and career aspirations. The diversity and complexity of today's public health concerns require professionals to have a broad base of knowledge, skills, and experiences. In addition to the foundational and concentration-specific courses, students may choose from a menu of elective courses.

Mission
To improve the health of the communities we serve by strengthening the public health workforce. We do so by preparing a diverse group of professionals to plan, implement, evaluate and advocate for population-based health practices, policies and programs and to create new knowledge through research.

Goals
The department has three main goals to provide public health services through education, research, service and outreach.
- Education: To educate a diverse group of professionals with the values, knowledge, and technical skills necessary to improve population health.
- Research: To advance public health knowledge by developing active programs of population-based health research and program evaluation, embedding the principles of health equity, social determinants of health, and justice to continually inform our efforts.
- Service & Outreach: To develop active partnerships and collaborative initiatives that contribute to population-based health practices, policies and programs from local to global levels, which increase health equity, address the social determinants of health, and pursue justice.
