Research focuses on lessening the side effects of chemotherapy

Some of the potent medications that are used to fight cancer can cause severe side effects. A scientist at Upstate is investigating how to make chemotherapy more tolerable. William Kerr, PhD, describes the work he and collaborators have already done on lessening some side effects of radiation therapy, and how that may apply to their research on easing some side effects of chemotherapy.
