In this presentation, the speakers will highlight key legal and ethical issues triggered when psychiatric patients refuse treatment. Discussion will be case-based to ground consideration of legal and ethical concerns in a real-world context. Speakers will include a forensic psychiatrist, a lawyer/ethicist, and a lawyer/patient advocate to expand the range of perspectives addressing key issues.
