Keeping the Kidney Happy on Lithium

Unknown to most nephrologists and many psychiatrists, the fascinating history of lithium and it's discovery nearly 200 years ago is directly linked to the kidney. This talk reviews the current understanding of lithium nephrotoxicity both from a molecular and a clinical bedside perspective. We will also discuss prevention strategies and risk mitigation.
