Treatment Adaptations that Work: Evidence-Based Responsiveness
John C. Norcross, Ph.D., A.B.P.P., Distinguished University Fellow, Professor, and Clinical Psychologist, Department of Psychology, University of Scranton, Scranton, PA and Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry, SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY
Psychotherapy is both a treatment method and a healing relationship fit to an individual patient and singular context. This presentation will review the meta-analytic research and clinical practices on effective elements of the therapy relationship and effective means of tailoring the treatment to individual patients. In this way, practice and research converge on responsiveness that demonstrably improved treatment outcomes.
