Investigations Division

The New York State University Police at Upstate Medical University have specialty training and expertise in numerous areas and are frequently called upon to perform a variety of criminal investigations.

If you are the victim of a crime on the Upstate Medical University Campus or have information about criminal activity, notify the Investigations Commander at 315-464-4000, or the University Police Communications Center at x4-4000 or 911 from any campus phone.

As an investigative agency we work closely with the Syracuse Police Department, Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, The Onondaga County Sheriff's Department, New York State Police and the Onondaga County District Attorney's Office.

NOTE: Hate Crime - Hate crime is a criminal offense committed against a person or property which is motivated, in whole or in part, by the offender's bias. Bias is a preformed negative opinion or attitude toward a group of persons based on their race, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or national origin.
