PEDIATRIC Services

Nurses and other nursing services staff are committed not only to practicing state-of-the-art care, but also to providing family centered care. More than 20,000 infants, children and adolescents are cared for annually at University Hospital. Services are provided in the General Pediatric Unit, PICU, Peds Intermediate Care Unit and the Center for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders. A unique and extensive one-on-one orientation program is provided for new personnel, a clinical ladder for career advancement, and clinical research opportunities. Pediatric nursing certification is paid for by the service-line. Pediatrics is a model for RN/MD collaboration.
