Becoming a transplant donor for Ashley was a no brainer. I love my daughter and Id do anything for her. Both her mom and I were good matches but I knew that I needed to give my kidney to Ashley so that her mother could care for her and her older brother while we were both recuperating from the transplant operations.Phillip
Now that Ive had a transplant, I know I need to take medicine after lunch and between my science and music classes.Ashley

My transplant gave me a second chance at life. Im stronger, feel better, and can do more. I was diagnosed with diabetes at age four and on dialysis by the time I was 35. Now, thanks to my transplant, I can do more for my family and am looking forward to going back to teaching. I am truly blessed.
I am so grateful to my donors family for their gift. And, I understand that they find comfort from the knowledge that their decision not only saved my life, but saved the lives of several other people.

I feel better with a real kidney than I had felt in more than a year, thanks to an anonymous donor family who made the decision to donate their daughters kidney. Every day, for the rest of my life I will remember and pray for this loving family.

" There is so much more to life after transplant. Before I was on dialysis four times a dayI had to juggle this around my job and caring for my sons. Not only do I have freedom, but I feel Im going to be around for my wife and boys."

The Ultimate Second Chance - Thats what my sister gave me when she gave me a new kidney. An organ transplant can make all the difference in the world to someone whose health has been taken away.

For me, being able to lead a normal active life after being so ill before the transplant has given me a greater appreciation of what I have been given. Having a sister who was willing to make such a sacrifice is a constant reminder of how fortunate I am. Elaine, recipient
I feel very fortunate to have been able to donate a kidney to my sister. It is gratifying to have such a positive impact on someone you love. Since the operation, I have given birth to three healthy children and maintained an active lifestyle. I feel very lucky to be a transplant donor. Linda, donor
