| GE LightSpeed RT CT Simulator |

In our continuing effort to provide the highest precision in radiation therapy, University Hospital offers the GE LightSpeed RT dedicated to obtaining CT data for the patient's unique treatment planning needs. The extra large gantry opening of 80cm is 10cm larger than a conventional CT scanner found in Radiology departments. This large opening allows for greater flexibility in patient positioning which provides better treatment planning options and improved patient comfort. The LightSpeed RT offers a 65cm variable field of view and multislice capabilities. These features allow the physician to see the patient's entire anatomy thus enabling precise target outlining and higher resolution. CT data is electronically transferred to the Eclipse Treatment Planning system for comprehensive treatment planning. |
