Program Components

Education

As you begin to understand more about chronic pain and the way it affects your life, the better you can cope with the situation

Aerobics

The program will focus on improving your endurance so that you will be strong enough to participate in activities for longer periods of time.

Flexibility

This area will increase the available range of motion you have in your joints for easier movement. Remember that a stiff joint is a painful joint.

Stabilization

It will be easier for you to move if the center of your body is strong. Your back and spine muscles are like the trunk of a tree. The stronger the trunk, the more stress and strain it can calmly withstand.

Strengthening

It will be easier for yu to participate in activities at home, work, and play if the muscles in your arms, legs and trunk are strong.

Pain Coping

By learning methods of relaxing, you will be able to respond to pain with an alternative method instead of spasm, irritation, and anger.
