The EEG laboratory is responsible for performing all in-patient EEGs at University Hospital. Out-patients are tested either here or at University Health Care Center, a medical building a few blocks from the hospital. Associated with this lab is the hospital's intensive EEG monitoring unit, which provides continuous computerized EEG recording together with video recording on patients with refractory seizures or with pseudoseizures.
The EEG lab also provides intraoperative monitoring of brain activity in patients undergoing brain surgery and of cerebral evoked potentials in patients having spinal operations. Auditory and visual evoked potentials are also done by this lab.
