The Emergency Department at University Hospital sees a total of 51,000 patients per year. As the region's only Level-One Trauma Center, University Hospital's Emergency Department is a fast-paced facility with state of the art technology in caring for the critically ill or injured. Serving a 15 county area, we care for patients transported by ground or air from the Central New York region.
University Hospital is the region's only specialty hospital for acute neurosurgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, transplant, and renal problems. University Hospital is the primary clinical site for the residency training program in Emergency Medicine at Upstate Medical University.
