Patient Safety Indicator Scores (PSI90)

This represents the comparison of the overall rate of selected complications compared to the average number of complications at other academic medical centers. The complications include such things as bed sores, catheter related infections, post-op blood clots or infections, accidental cuts and accidental lung collapse from surgical procedures. The values represent the proportion of other academic medical centers that we score better than. A higher score is better.

Desired Trend: Increase
Goal: To be in the Top 25% of all University Hospital Consortium (UHC) Academic Medical Centers by 2015. (In the chart below, UH aspires to measure greater than the 75th percentile.)
