Brief Description of Core:

The core provides in vivo services utilizing SCID and humanized SCID (HU-SCID) mice. HU-SCID mice are engrafted with human stem and immune cells. The facility has the capability to provide in vivo:

  • Pre-clinical evaluation of chemotherapeutics
  • Evaluation of cell tumorigenicity
  • Expression of gene therapy vectors using human adult stem cells
  • Maturation of human hematopoeitic and embryonic stem cells
  • Evaluation of antiviral agents
