Study Title:

A single-center in vitro study to evaluate GSK 1325756 inhibition of CD11b cell surface expression in healthy adults and respiratory syncytial virus-infected children <2 years

What is the purpose of the study? (in Layman's terms, please describe the study)

We are currently studying treatment options for a respiratory infection in children caused by the virus, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). RSV makes children very sick and we have no drugs to treat this infection. The use of the medication, GSK 1325756, to treat RSV infection will be studied in children in the next few years. The purpose of this research study is to guide appropriate dosing recommendations of this medication for future clinical trials. We will do this by studying blood samples collected from healthy adults and RSV-infected children and adding the medicine, GSK 1325756 to the samples.
