A Prospective, Randomized, Multicenter Study Comparing the Safety and Effectiveness of Arthrex's Eclipse(TM) Shoulder to the Univers(TM) II Shoulder Prosthesis in Patients With A Degenerative Joint Disease

What is the purpose of the study? (in Layman's terms, please describe the study)

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that the Arthrex Eclipse ™ Shoulder prostethesis works as well as or better than the Arthrex Univers™ II Shoulder prostethesis for the treatment of degenerative joint disease in patients who are candidates for total shoulder replacement
