Research in the Department of Public Heath and Preventive Medicine
The faculty in the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine conduct research on a wide variety of public health issues.
Current research efforts have focused on such broad areas as diabetes, asthma, maternal and child health and global health. Faculty work collabortively with researchers throughout and beyond SUNY Upstate to not only further knowledge in the fields of public health and preventive medicine, but to find ways to apply that knowledge to real-life situations.
Center for Research and Evaluation
The Center for Research and Evaluation provides a nidus for collaborative research throughout the institution.
Faculty in the CNYMPH program not only train students to be the public health leaders of tomorrow, they include them in research activities to equip the next generation of public health leaders with the research knowledge to identify and control future public health problems.
In collaboration with the clinical and research faculty of SUNY Upstate Medical University, the CRE will conduct research and execute data analyses designed to guide the improvement of patient care and associated patient outcomes.
