St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center

A major teaching affiliate of Upstate Medical University located about a mile north of the campus, St. Joseph's runs the Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation Program (CPEP), a state funded "psychiatric emergency room" for a five-county area.

CPEP provides residents the opportunity to spend a month during their PGY-2 year working regular shifts alongside the permanent staff doing evaluations, referring patients to inpatient and outpatient services throughout the region, and managing patients in the four 72-hour observation beds.
