Crouse Hospital
Crouse
Hospital is another general hospital contiguous to the Upstate Medical
University campus which provides for both inpatient and outpatient treatment
of substance abuse.
Crouse supports programs in acute inpatient detoxification, a 40-bed
residential chemical dependency treatment program and adult and adolescent
outpatient treatment services which include alcoholism services, a drug
abuse clinic, day treatment services and a methadone maintenance program.
Residents spend two months rotating through these services half time
during their PGY-3 year. There is also the opportunity to gain more
specific experience during electives in the PGY-4 year.
