About Upstate

Upstate Medical University is special because it is one of only 125 academic medical centers in the United States — and the only one in Central New York. Academic medical centers are built around teaching hospitals and medical schools, and lead the nation in scientific research, medical education and health care.

• The colleges of Health Professions and Nursing are upper-division transfer and graduate colleges, accepting students with a minimum of two years of college course work.
  
  
• The College of Nursing also accepts master's and post master's students.
  
  
• The College of Medicine and College of Graduate Studies are graduate colleges, accepting students with four-year college degrees. The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is housed in the College of Health Professions.
