Our highly trained team of pathologists, technologists, and support staff conduct a wide range of procedures from simple blood tests to complex analyses for cancer, viruses, bone marrow abnormalities, genetic disorders, therapeutic drug monitoring, infectious disease, and molecular diagnoses. Many of these tests have been adapted or developed for infants, children, and adolescent patients in support of the Golisano Children's Hospital at University Hospital.
Patient Blood Draw Sites
Our Patient Blood Draw Sites employ highly trained phlebotomists who are especially adept at drawing blood from babies, small children, and other patients where special phlebotomy skills are required.
No appointment is necessary at any of our locations. Simply bring an order from you doctor. We'll obtain the specimen, process it at our state-of-the-art laboratory, and send the results to your docotor.
Many laboratory tests are performed on specimens other than blood and body fluids. Tissue samples are collected by your doctor and sent to the laboratory for examination by our pathologists, many of whom are nationally recognized experts in their specialty fields. This specialization allows us to offer services that otherwise would be sent out of the area, increasing the time it takes for your physician to get results. We're the only laboratory in Central New York to offer:
- Pediatric and Adult Genetics Studies
- Molecular Pathology
- Ophthalmic Pathology
- Fertility Studies
- Renal (Kidney) Pathology
- Environmental & Occupational Pathology
- low Cytometry
- Electron Microscopy

By siging the ABN the patient agrees to be financially responsible for laboratory charges. Medicare patients will also be asked to complete a Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) form. This helps us determine if Medicare is the primary or secondary payer to other insurance companies. We are required by Medicare to collect this information.
