Whole Blood

Collection:Collect using standard laboratory procedures
Transport:Refrigerate and ship within 24 hours of blood draw.
Stability:Refrigerated: 7 days 2-8 degrees
Container:Lavender top (EDTA)
Rejection Causes:Clotted
Insufficent Sample Volume
Notes:Please include cbc and slide if a hemoglobinopathy evaluation is requested. This testing is ordered by the pathologist if indicated.
