Monthly Parking Rates

Monthly parking rates for employees, students and contract employees are based on negotiated rates with the respective bargaining units or rates set by management. The monthly rates are effective October 1, 2009. New York State sales tax will be added

The payment is due by the first of each month. Multiple month payments are acceptable and may be made up to one year in advance. Full-time State and Research personnel are encouraged to sign-up for payroll deduction. Payment Overdue

A $1.00 react fee will be charged if the monthly payment is not received in the Parking Office by the close of business on the fifth day of the new month. In addition to the late charge, overdue parkers will have their ID cards inactivated in the Garages and keyed out in R, I, A, and B Lots. Parkers with keyed out ID cards will be responsible to find alternate parking and to cover any fees they may incur until payment is made. Accordingly, Employees are encouraged to utilize Payroll deduction for parking payment.

All payments may be made at Room 1801 UH, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, in the night depository at the same location, or through in-house mail. Checks are payable to "Upstate Medical University".

Daily Parking Rates

E Lot, Upstate Parking Garage East, IHP Lot

E-Lot may only be used by patients and visitors during prime time hours. Fees for off-hour and weekend use of E-Lot, with a maximum of $14, are posted at the entrance of the lot. No discounts are available to employees, students or contract employees.

Daily parking is also available in the Upstate Parking Garage East at the posted maximum daily rate of $14.

Upstate parkers assigned to off-campus lots and are current with payments, can use the East Garage on weekends and Garage West on red holidays. There is no additional charge.

E-Lot

E-Lot parking is only available to patients and visitors of Upstate. Parking for employees and students is prohibited.

R-Lot

Daily parking is available at R-Lot. It is open to employees, students and non-employees. Parking is paid by pre-purchasing tickets at the Parking Office. The current daily rate is $3.00. R-Lot is open Monday – Friday, from 4:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Security is present during all hours of service. A maximum of 50 spaces are available for daily parking.

Employees and students utilizing daily parking, who leave and return on the same day, may obtain a receipt to ensure not paying more than the daily maximum rate. Receipts are valid until midnight of the date of issue.

On-Call Employee Parking Access

On-call physician parking is available in E Lot between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. on weekdays and all-day on weekends and holidays, provided the physician is a registered paid parker.

On-call staff, who are registered and paid shuttle lot (I & R) parkers, may park in the Adams Street lot Monday through Friday after 4:00 pm. To gain access to Adams street lot, the parker will have to press the intercom button located by the entrance gates. The parker will give the answering attendant their name and Upstate ID number. The attendant will then open the gates to allow entrance. To exit the lot, the parker will press the intercom button by the exit gates and the attendant will verify name and ID number. The attendant will then raise the gates and allow exit.

Upstate parkers assigned to off-campus lots and are current with payments, can use the East Garage on weekends and Garage West on red holidays. There is no additional charge.

Reduced Patient/ Visitor Rates

Reduced rates are available for patients and their immediate family members. Please contact the Parking Office at 464-4801, UH 1801 or see the courtesy desk in the main lobby of Upstate Medical Hospital for more information.
