Raja W. Abdul-Karim, M.D., F.R.S.H, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology retired January 31, 2014 after 50 plus years of loyal service. Dr. Karim was honored at a Retirement Reception which took place on April 10, 2014 at the Institute for Human Performance.
His dedication to the medical students and his innovative teaching won him the APGO Teaching Award twice. He was well known for his research both nationally and internationally and was among the first in the nation to develop a Reproductive Toxicology and Counseling Unit. Dr. Karim was known for his highly ethical approach to medicine, teaching, and research.
He was invited by the Nobel Committee of Karolinska Institute to nominate candidates for the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
