Eastwood Rotary Club Announces the Second Annual Live Auction to Benefit
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Eastwood Rotary Club is pleased to announce the Second Annual Live Auction to benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital at University Hospital. The event will take place at Traditions at the Links, 5900 North Burdick Street, East Syracuse, on Friday, April 20, 2007. Auction items are available for preview from 6:30PM to 7:30PM, and the live auction begins at 7:30PM. Tickets are only $25.00 per person or $40.00 per couple. A ticket order form is available on Syracuse.com at http://www.syracuse.com/auction. The price of admission includes a nice selection of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer, soda, coffee and cake. In addition to the live auction there will be a great silent auction, door prizes and a raffle.
The Live Auction, managed by Ross Galleries of Holbrook, NY includes a wide variety of framed art, sports memorabilia, and music memorabilia. Rick Gary of NewsChannel 9 Bridge Street and Sunny 102 FM will emcee the event. Tom Welch, MD, Professor & Chair of Pediatrics at Upstate Medical University will update event attendees on the Golisano Children’s Hospital. Syracuse University Head Football Coach Greg Robinson and his wife Laura will be on hand to greet guests and help auction off a football signed by S.U. alum, and former Denver Bronco, Floyd Little. By popular demand, the Floyd Little autographed football will be part of a special live auction segment beginning at 8:30PM. The special segment will include local artwork and local sports memorabilia.
Event chairperson Jerry O’Donnell encourages the entire community to come enjoy an evening out while supporting the Golisano Children’s Hospital, one of Central New York’s most vital resources. “Our goal is to create a wonderful evening of food, drink and entertainment for less than the cost of dinner out. Our guests last year had a great time, and we’re committed to making this year’s even bigger and better,” remarked O’Donnell.
All proceeds from this event will be used to pay Eastwood Rotary Club’s $35,000 pledge to the new Golisano Children’s Hospital at University Hospital. For more information about this event including ticket information, advertising/sponsorship information, or to donate an item or items for the silent or live auction, please contact Don Zorn, Eastwood Rotary Foundation Board Member and Golisano Children’s Hospital Campaign Manager, at 315-464-4274 or zornd@upstate.edu.
