Major phase of lobby demolitions begins Nov. 8
The major demolition phase of the project will start Nov. 8 and last approximately three weeks. During this time, the existing second floor concrete deck canopy over the hospital entrance will be removed. Equipment needed for this demolition, including jackhammers is expected to cause considerable noise and vibration to adjacent areas such as the north and west wings. The jackhammer work will occur between noon and 8 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work may also be conducted on Saturdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. This schedule was developed based on input from the various affected departments.
Structural steel for the new lobby will be installed following the completion of the demolition. Addition construction work necessary to connect the pedestrian bridge from the parking garage to the second floor elevators and the second floor of the lobby, still to be built, will be done in the following areas: the second floor north elevator lobby; Room 2248, the former PM&R (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) conference room; Room 2246, the PM&R day room, (The PM&R conference room is now located in Room 2138). Due to this work, the public bathrooms on the second floor of the hospital are closed. New facilities will be opened when the lobby renovation is completed.
Thank you for your continued support while we improve our facilities for patients, visitors and staff.
