In the Knox lab, we utilize high–resolution live cell imaging in transgenic Xenopus to compare the properties of fluorescently tagged rhodopsin and disease–linked mutants. The mutants are abnormally distributed both in the inner and outer segments (OS) and form aberrant fluorescent foci. In this slide: Live rod photoreceptors expressing EGFP.
