The Department of Neurology at Upstate Medical University has a tripartite mission. First, we are dedicated to providing state of the art neurological care to the Upstate New York community. Second, we serve the educational needs of medical students, residents in neurology and other fields, fellows, and the general public. Finally, we are engaged in basic, clinical, and translational research in Neuroscience with the goals of furthering understanding of neurological diseases, and developing new treatments that will improve the lives of our patients. We are also actively collaborating with the departments of Neurosurgery and Neuroscience and Physiology to bring an integrated Neuroscience Institute to central New York that will further enhance all of the objectives mentioned above.
