ACLS

As a new member of the Internal Medicine Department at SUNY Upstate Medical University, you are required to take an ACLS Provider course.

Your ACLS Provider training will be scheduled by EPO staff. You be notified via e-mail.

The ACLS course is conducted by the EmStat Center, 550 East Genesee Street.

The EmStat Center is part of the Department of Emergency Medicine, SUNY Upstate Medical University.

You will receive a welcome/reminder letter from the EmStat Center prior to your course date via email. In the letter, you will be asked to purchase an ECC handbook. You don’t need to purchase the book as the Department of Medicine will provide you with an ECC Handbook for the course. Your book will be distributed by the EmStat Center staff on the first day of ACLS Provider training. The book is yours to keep. Please keep it in a safe place as you will need it again for a refresher course during your second year of training.

ACLS Provider certification is only valid for 2 years and all residents are required to take an ACLS refresher to recertify during the latter part of your R2 year. To schedule your refresher course please visit ACLS Refresher Course. You will need to verify the date with the Chief residents prior to scheduling.

If you have any questions, please email the chief resident at: UHChiefResident@upstate.edu
