Medical school and location: University of Santo Tomas, Philippines
Special interests and future plans: I enjoy a lot of aspects of medicine, but I am planning to pursue Pulmonary and Critical Care for fellowship. I just love the pace, excitement and unpredictability of the ICU! I also want to teach one day within this field, whether it be to medical students or to residents. One day hopefully, I'd like to actively be part of charity organizations or outreach programs to help the underserved.
Interests/hobbies outside of medicine: Fishing, wakeboarding, scuba diving, hiking, and anything that sounds adventurous. Sports: basketball, pool/billiards, table tennis. Hanging out with friends, watching the latest movies, Broadway plays/music.
Languages spoken, other than English: Filipino
Why you decided to come to our program: During my interview date and the dinner w/ residents, the atmosphere had the greatest impact on me compared to others. I was impressed with the Dr. Knohl's presentation of the program's focus, goals and expectations. I heard good things about the university from other people.
