building on the profession
picture of new addition
The five-story, 46,000-square-foot addition to Weiskotten Hall is the first new classroom space built at Upstate Medical University since the late 1970s.

When completed in 2007, the new Rose and Jules R. Setnor, MD '35 and Stanford S. Setnor, MD '42 Academic Building will contain state-of-the-art space that supports and reflects medical education in the 21st century.

The building is made possible by donations from SUNY Upstate alumni, most notably the Setnors, whose gift will ensure the building's state-of-the-art design. Funding from New York state and SUNY Upstate's capital budget also will support construction.
