Media Services Collection

The Media Collection consists of videotapes, videodiscs, slide/tapes, multimedia CD-ROMs and DVDs useful for lecture or individual study. The collection includes four serial subscriptions; Network for Continuing Medical Education (NCME) and Audio-Digest (audiotapes and sound CDs) in Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Surgery.

Location

Media Services videotapes are located on the first floor, Health Sciences Library, near the newspapers and the Eastwood Collection. DVDs and “Reserve Use” videos are available for circulation at the Library Services Desk, main floor of the Library. Audio Digest sound CDs, NCME videos, NCME DVDs and CD-ROMs are also available the Library Services Desk. The Upstate Catalog (Aleph) contains information on Media Services holdings and location. Media can be located through the catalog by subject, format, author and title.

Equipment

Playback equipment – television/video, television/dvd and laser disc player are located on study carrels in the Current Periodicals Room, Health Sciences Library, first floor.

Circulation and Borrowing Policies

Circulation for one week is possible with a valid SUNY Upstate ID Card. Special reserves for “Library Use Only” programs are available. Faculty, students and staff may reserve media for special show dates one week in advance of the show date.
