About the HIC

Mission Statement

To provide the resources necessary to support consumers in health-related decision making, health promotion and illness management.
To provide the educational material for patients which augments the teaching of their health care providers and assists them in understanding their diagnoses, therapies, potential adverse complications and the consequences of noncompliance.
To assist health care providers seeking appropriate information resources for their patient education and consumer health information needs, and to assist them in developing their own materials when appropriate.
