Aquatic Center

One of the Institute's most impressive features is a multi-purpose Aquatic Center, anchored by a 25-meter, four-lane, temperature-controlled swimming pool. The 200-ton floor of this extraordinary pool adjusts from ground level to seven feet in depth, making it ideal for diverse applications, including aquatic therapy under reduced-gravity conditions, performance analysis for competitive swimmers and health promotion programs. For patients with disabilities, the pool's moveable bottom, combined with a specially engineered wheelchair ramp, provide unprecedented access and independence.

In keeping with the Institute's research mission, the Aquatic Center includes an adjoining research laboratory, where computers will use telemetry to capture cardiovascular, motion analysis and other data from patients in the pool.
