Who is eligible for care at the Child Care Center?

The center serves children of students, employees and faculty of Upstate.

What are the operating hours at the Child Care Center?

We are open from 6:45 am until 5:30 pm, Monday-Friday.

What age children do you serve?

We serve children 8 weeks to 5 years of age.

How quickly can we get into the center from the time we file an application?

The average wait is 6-12 months, but can be longer in some age groups. We recommend that you get on the waiting list as soon as you become pregnant or even before that.

What can you tell us about the quality of your center?

We are a newly accredited center. This means that we have gone through a rigorous evaluation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). They approved us and this means that we are rated among the top 8% of centers nationally.

What are the fees?

Tuition for full time care is based on a sliding fee scale for affordability. Part time care is on a space available basis. Hourly and drop in care are not available.

Are parents involved in the program?

Parents are encouraged to visit the program whenever their schedule will allow. We encourage them to join us for classroom activities. We also schedule two parent-staff-board dinners each year.

What is your program like?

We treat the children as individuals who develop at their own rate. The planned curriculum offers a balance of individual and group experiences designed to promote self esteem, creativity, language development, cognitive skills, and fine and gross motor skills in an effort to encourage the development of the whole child.

You will see the Child Care Center located at the center of the SUNY Upstate map . This makes the Center easily accessible from all locations.
