New Employee Welcome Program and Online Orientation

All new and returning employees will complete the New Employee Welcome Program and online orientation mandatory education.

 

New Employee Welcome Program

The in-person New Employee Welcome Program provides a welcome from leadership, along with parking sign-up, compliance and ethics training, benefits & retirement information, and a chance to meet with the unions. All new and returning State and Research Foundation employees are required to attend.

Online Orientation and Mandatory Educations

Our online New Employee Orientation (NEO) welcomes new employees and prepares them for employment at SUNY Upstate Medical University. 

The online NEO includes:

  • An overview of our institution and campus
  • Completion of mandatory training topics

Types of Online NEO:

Nursing:  will complete the online NEO in an assigned computer lab on their start date. Depending upon their clinical role, the employee may report as early as Friday morning to their work unit.

Non-Nursing: will complete the online NEO on their start date in their department.
