A Randomized Phase III Study of Sublobar Resection (SR) versus Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SAbR) in High Risk Patients with Stage I Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC), The STABLEMATES Trial

What is the purpose of the study? (in Layman's terms, please describe the study)

This study is being done to compare the results of two standard treatments: sublobar resection (removal of a small portion of a lung) and radiation (SAbR -stereotactic ablative radiotherapy, which is radiation given by a specialized x-ray machine that targets your lung cancer).
