Knowing Changes Everything™
Knowledge is often the difference between wellness and illness. Between real answers and more "what-ifs." For our patients, it gives you the power to make smart healthcare choices. And us the ability to heal. So the more you understand your options at Upstate, the more involved you are in choices for the future, the greater the chance of positive outcomes— of changing everything. That is what we seek to convey in our branding campaign.
Golisano Children's Hospital
Perched in the top two floors of the colorful East Tower, the Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital centralizes pediatric care for the entire Central New York region. Each patient room is private, 240 square feet in size and equipped with more power outlets than the average home. Sleepers are also available to accommodate family members.
Upstate Cancer Center
The Upstate Cancer Center, affiliated with the Upstate Cancer Research Institute, houses the only cancer program in Central New York designed to care for both adults and children. Physicians work in multidisciplinary teams, concentrating on site-specific cancers such as breast, lung, prostate, liver, head and neck. Its rooftop features a four-season healing garden.
Upstate Stroke Center
Central New York's first designated stroke center was the Upstate Stroke Center, with the region's only specialized neuroscience and rehabilitation floors, neuroscience step-down and neuroscience intensive care unit. Board-certified physicians specializing in emergency medicine, neurology, neurosurgery and radiology are on duty 24/7.
Upstate Heart and Vascular Center
The Upstate Heart and Vascular Center offers invasive and non-invasive cardiac and diagnostic testing, a digital cardiac catheterization lab and expanded echocardiography capabilities with 3D and 4D imaging. A endovascular imaging suite accommodates peripheral and hybrid vascular and cardiac procedures. Doctors also have access to a new Stereotaxis magnetic navigation system and the latest DaVinci robot.
Upstate Breast Care Center
Central New York's best-known breast surgeon, Patricia J. Numann MD started the Breast Care Center in 1986, and it remains the dedicated comprehensive compassionate care center she envisioned. Women and men come to the center for second opinion consultations, high-risk screening, genetic counseling and lactation consultation with the region's only physician certified in lactation problems. The center offers evaluation and treatment of thyroid and parathyroid conditions, as well as a breast cancer program accredited by The American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer.
