The Division of Hematology/Oncology

Hematologists/Oncologists have special expertise in diseases of the blood and cancer. They provide chemotherapy treatments and bone marrow transplants for cancer care. Problems of coagulation, anemia, and other blood disorders are treated with transfusions, phlebotomy, and iron infusions. Certain offices also treat other diseases that require infusional therapies.

SUNY Upstate Medical University provides adult Hematology/Oncology services on an inpatient basis at University Hospital’s downtown campus in Syracuse NY and on a consulting basis at our Community campus, Oswego Hospital, and Oneida Healthcare. Outpatient services are provided at the following office locations:

  • Upstate Cancer Center, Syracuse NY
  • Upstate Cancer Center at Oneida, Oneida NY
  • Upstate Cancer Center at Oswego, Oswego NY

Services are provided to patients from a 17-county radius around Central New York. The doctors on staff are board certified in Hematology, Oncology or both. Physicians are supported by:

  • Case Managers
  • Specially Trained Registered Nurses
  • Support Staff
