Upstate University Hospital is a hub hospital for stroke care which means, through the "magic" of telemedicine, appropriate, stabilizing and sometimes curative care can be given to patients at hospitals that are not staffed for stroke care. Sharon Klaiber RN, stroke program coordinator at UH, and Shelly Clark RN, of REACHCALL, describe what constitutes telemedical care at a number of regional community hospitals now partnering with Upstate.
