Recycling Starts With You
On Wednesday, October 6, 2010, Upstate Medical University launched its "Recycling Starts With You" program to reduce Upstate's carbon footprint on our environment, and to shift the balance of what we add to the waste stream in Onondaga County.
Currently, the ratio of waste and recycling we produce is 2/3 waste and 1/3 recycling. Our goal is to flip that ratio. Annually, Upstate generates approximately 1,400 tons of waste and 504 tons of recycled material.
We need our employees, faculty, students and volunteers to help us improve our recycling numbers!
