Sharon A. Brangman, MD has been on the faculty at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York since October 1989. She is currently Professor of Medicine and Division Chief of Geriatric Medicine in the Department of Medicine. She is the director of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program and is director of the Central New York Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center.
Dr. Brangman received her undergraduate degree in biology from Syracuse University and her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse in 1981. She completed residency training in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in The Bronx, New York, where she also completed fellowship training in geriatric medicine. Dr. Brangman is certified in internal medicine and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society, and was elected to the board of the American Geriatrics Society in May, 2002.
Jeanne E. Bishop, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University. She has received her undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University in Chemistry, her graduate degree from Stanford University in Physical Therapy and her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Bishop completed her residency training in internal medicine at Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, New York and her Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at UCLA Multicampus Division of Geriatrics, Los Angeles, CA. She is certified in internal medicine and has her Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine. She is also a Certified Medical Director through the American Medical Directors Association. In addition, she is the Medical Director of James Square Health and Rehabilitation Centre in Syracuse, New York.
Dr Bishop received the Hospice Anita Award: "For Active Listening, Presence at the Bedside, and Highest Standards of Practice in End-of-Life Care" 2003.
Andrea Berg is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY and her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine, Washington, DC. Dr. Berg completed her residency training in internal medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT and her Geriatrics Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. Dr. Berg is certified in both internal medicine and geriatric medicine.
Ms. Heagle Bahn is certified as an Adult and Gerontological Nurse Practitioner. She received her B.S. and Masters degree in Nursing as well as a B.S. degree in psychology from Syracuse University. A Post-masters certification in Nursing Education was achieved in 2005.
Work experience has been primarily in the care of the older adult. Her extensive career includes employment in skilled nursing facilities, outpatient geriatrics practice and hospital care of the elderly.
Isabel Yonge is a certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. She received her B.S. and M.S. in nursing from SUNY Stonybrook. She is currently working on her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) through Loyola University New Orleans with a focus on geriatrics and aging issues. As an RN, Ms. Yonge focused on working with geriatric populations. She worked at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in the Hospitalist Department as a nurse practitioner from 2011 - 2013.
Betsy has been working as a nurse specializing in senior care at nursing homes, home visits and outpatient services since 1980. She joined our team at University Geriatricians in 1998.
Cathy is a Licensed Practical Nurse with over 35 years of nursing experience. She has worked in both the private office and operating room settings. Cathy joined University Geriatricians in 2011.
Marjorie graduated from McGill University in 2006. She has practiced Medical Social Work in Ireland, Canada, and the US. Marjorie has been with University Geriatrician since August 2011.
Thelma has worked in the geriatrics field for over 26 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Fayetteville State University, NC. She joined University Health Care Center in 2004 as an Outpatient Administrative Specialist.
