University Hospital's medical pediatric unit provides care to infants, children and adolescents for treatment of acute and chronic conditions, disabilities and other complex problems covering the complete spectrum of pediatric care.

This is a 16 bed pediatric unit specializing in the care of children after surgery as well as being the referral unit for the 17 counties in Central New York. The staff is trained in the management of the acutely ill child with a variety of diagnosis such as Diabetes, Kidney Disease, Cardiac Defects as well as trauma.
