Adolescent Medicine
Adolescent Medicine Program
The specialty of Adolescent Medicine was created to improve the scope and quality of health-related services for adolescents. Priorities in health care from the teenager?s viewpoint include sexuality issues, self-esteem and body image concerns, peer pressure and experimentation with alcohol or other drugs. Parents often worry about their kids? performance in school, whether they are hanging out with the wrong crowd, drinking and driving, or engaging in other risky behaviors that could jeopardize their health. All of these issues can make the teenage years complex and challenging. As specialists in Adolescent Medicine, we pride ourselves upon setting aside sufficient time for an office visit so that these issues, and any others, can be adequately addressed in an atmosphere of trust, privacy and confidentiality.Confidentiality is provided and protected in accordance with New York State law.
