RESEARCH FOUNDATION—Step by Step Appointment Process for New Paid Faculty

  1. Complete F1 form using the Online Employment System.

    Submit printed F1 for the Dean's signature along with:
  2. Upon approval of F1, position will be posted, Affirmative Action packet is mailed to the department and advertising may begin.
  1. Select faculty candidate. (If candidate is a non-citizen, please contact Stacy Mehlek to discuss Immigration processes.)
  1. Obtain Affirmative Action approval.
  1. Prepare the following and e-mail for review by Dean's Office:
  1. Departmental Offer Letters—following the templates provided on the web regarding:
    1. Research Foundation Employment  WORD document PDF PDF document text)
    2. MSG salary PDF document text
      (if applicable from the Department)
    3. Other departmental arrangements (ie. space, travel, supplies, etc)

  2. Annual Agreement of Academic Expectations.
  1. Updated Curriculum Vitae PDF document text
E-mail the completed items in Step #5 to each of the following individuals for review: Upon Dean's Office review and approval:
  • Print on appropriate letterhead for Chair's signature
  • Forward with a CV to Mary Arseneau for the Dean's signature

Once signed by the Dean: Documents may be sent to faculty candidate.

  1. If appointing to Associate Professor/Professor rank, complete :
    1. FAPC Submission guide for New Appointment, Promotion, and/or Tenure of Paid Faculty WORD documentPDF PDF document text
    2. Forward to the Office of Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development.

  2. Complete and forward to the Dean's Office:
    1. Research Foundation New Appoint Faculty Recommendation WORD documentPDF
    2. Faculty Personnel Record  WORD document PDF PDF document text
    3. All other supportive materials must be attached.

All forms to be submitted for approval must be submitted to Mary Arseneau.
