Upstate Employees and Students walk the talk by helping their own!
Members of the Upstate Employee and Student Emergency Fund committee know the needs of our community given the number of applications they have reviewed and the situations they have learned of. They also know how to help even beyond serving on the committee.
Upstate Employee and Student Emergency Fund committee members have reached out to their peers and raised additional funds to help support this worthwhile program. Below are a few success stories showing Upstate employees and students going above and beyond to support a cause they believe in.
At the request of our student committee members, the Upstate Student Government coordinated their annual raffle with proceeds benefiting the Upstate Employee and Student Emergency Fund! Thank you to all who supported the raffle, and thank you to the USG for your hard work and generous donation!
In December 2015, Upstate Employee and Student Emergency Fund Committee members coordinated a holiday collection to provide food and gifts (books, personal care items, grocery gift card, t-shirts, and socks) to an applicant and their family. Thanks to the generosity of our committee members, we were able to raise over $500 for the family to celebrate the holidays.
Additionally, anonymous donations have been received from outside individuals without any connection to the institution.
On behalf of the students and employees being helped by the Upstate Employee and Student Emergency Fund, we thank you for your generous contributions. Every dollar donated helps us help our Upstate family in times of economic hardship caused by sudden, non-recurring, and unplanned events such as accident, illness, loss or disaster, such as: family crisis, fire, acute illness or natural disaster.
Please continue to spread the word about our efforts and needs, and consider the Upstate Employee and Student Emergency Fund as the recipient of your fundraising.
Thank you again to our generous colleagues and neighbors!
