It is best to call ahead to make an appointment. Students usually can be seen on the day they call. More time can be set aside to meet your specific needs with a scheduled appointment. Appointments should always be made for assessment long standing non-acute medical conditions. Example: knee pain for one month. (Note: It is not necessary to make an appointment for an Annual Health Assessment. They are done on a walk-in basis.)
Students without an appointment (walk-ins) are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis.
To schedule an appointment, call Student Health at 315 464-5470, ext. 4. If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, please call to cancel.
Student Health is staffed by a physician, nurse practitioners, nurses and secretarial staff. Under routine circumstances, the student will be seen by the nurse practitioner. If a problem requires a physician consultation, the Student Health physician will review the case and an appointment will be scheduled.
Emergency care is available at the University Hospital Emergency Department. Identify yourself as an Upstate student andnotify the Student Health Office the next business day. Your health insurance will be billed for Emergency Department charges.
Urgent care services (when Student Health is closed) are available at Crouse Prompt Care, which is located across from Crouse Hospital. Your health insurance will be billed for urgent care charges.
